DEBUT (2026) by Amfi
In 2025, for our seventh commissioned play, we turn to poet Lina Rydén Reynols to write for an upcoming production.
She sets the story in a highly physical and viscerally tangible narrative, unfolding in a post-apocalyptic time where humanity has been forced out to the countryside, plagued by crop failure and famine. After an accident in the fields, a woman discovers she has the power to change everything for the people on the farm—her torn-off arm grows back.
On stage, we meet Indra Lindroth, a multifaceted stage and voice artist who, under the direction of Saga Gärde, brings to life all the characters and moods of the story using loop and pitch pedals. Also on stage is the newly formed treble choir Tusen Tungor, performing both as accompaniment and as actors, under the direction of Linnea Landström.
The premiere is planned for Stockholm in November 2026 at Accelerator, the art space at the University. The production will then move to Potatopotato’s stage in Malmö for a December run.
